Oak Harbor, home to Whidbey Island Naval Air Station’ has a stand of native ‘Garry’ oak trees in the little
city park above the waterfront.

Seen in Pipestone Canyon in eastern Washington. The trees in the background are blackened by the wildfires that crippled the Methow valley last summer.There is an eerie beauty to the damaged trees and fauna juxtaposed aginst the the burgeoning spring.
