The little coastal town of North Cove lost almost 80% of structures since the turn of the nineteenth century. A solution was escaping every soul until the 1980’s when someone observing nature noticed the way beach sand collected in between the larger beach rocks and broken concrete, eventually manifesting a dune of which grasses and brooms took hold and blocked the wave action, Once this notion arrived the locals needed to convince the government to install rocks and quarry spalls along the coastal beach , some as high as thirty foot tall. As the huge winter waves broke over the wall they deposited sand and the new dunes were born.
