The wharf was the first National Historic Site within the National Park Service system, established in 1937.
The wharf is one half mile long and at one time was covered with buildings and a hub of activity.

Swimmin’ Hole
These quarries seemed bottomless to me as a kid. Many a stolen car had been sent to its watery grave in these quarries. Iydillic in summer and like bathwater, the cold Atlantic lay just across the road.

Walkin’ After Midnight
I go out walkin’ after midnight
Out in the moonlight
Just like we used to do
I’m always walkin’ after midnight searchin’ for you
I walk for miles along the highway
Well, that’s just my way
Of sayin’ I love you
I’m always walkin’ after midnight, searchin’ for you…..

Maryhill Museum
The Maryhill museum in Goldendale,Washington, an eclectic collection of art including Rodin sculptures and drawings. Set in the windy chasm of the Columbia River Gorge,it’s surrounded by gigantic, surreal white wind turbines, rangeland, ranches and cows. Way cool! http://www.maryhillmuseum.org/
Old and New
Scene outside the Maryhill museum in Goldendale,Washington, an eclectic collection of art including Rodin sculptures and drawings. The building itself is quite gorgeous in its setting in the windy chasm of the Columbia River Gorge. It’s surrounded by gigantic, surreal white wind turbines, rangeland, ranches and cows. Way cool! I’ll post the Museum itself this week. http://www.maryhillmuseum.org/
